Four Pinellas County communities have asked that their projects be considered for funding in the third year of Forward Pinellas’s Complete Streets program.
Created in 2016, the Complete Streets program provides funding for the development of concept plans and for constructing transportation projects that make roadways safer and more accessible for all users. In response to a call for projects in September, the City of Clearwater, City of Dunedin, City of St. Petersburg and Town of Redington Shores submitted five applications by the December 14 deadline. Those applications are viewable at the links below and on the Complete Streets program page.
A committee of technical staff from Forward Pinellas and local government agencies will review the applications and make a recommendation to the Forward Pinellas Board. The board will approve funding at its March 2019 meeting. Up to $100,000 is available for the development of concept plans, and up to $1 million will be available for construction projects in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation.
Concept Planning Applications ($100,000 available):
- City of Clearwater requests $50k for Ft. Harrison from Belleair to the Alt 19 merge
- City of St. Petersburg requests $100k for 18th S. from 35th St. to 14th St.
