About Forward Pinellas
Forward Pinellas is the fictitious name for the Pinellas Planning Council (PPC) and Pinellas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). The agency is focused on the integration of land use and transportation planning throughout Pinellas County. The PPC and MPO governing board memberships are the same and the unified agency is led by a single Executive Director. The MPO receives federal and state grant funding to conduct transportation planning efforts. This funding is detailed in the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), a two-year document that is the basis for work conducted under MPO tasks. The PPC is primarily funded through local property tax revenues and has a budget that is adopted annually.
