DESCRIPTION:PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE \nAPRIL 4\, 6 PM \nST PETERSBURG COLLEGE  \nALLSTATE CENTER\, DESOTO ROOM \n3200 34TH STREET SOUTH \nYou are invited to attend a public meeting and open house to learn about and provide comments on proposed road design concepts to re-purpose the outside lanes of 34th Street South from 22nd Avenue South to 54th Avenue South. The concepts call for the outside lanes to be re-purposed for bus use and business access. This would be implemented as part of a resurfacing project scheduled for construction in 2022. \nThe resurfacing project would also include the construction of six- to 10-foot sidewalks on both sides of the road and added\, enhanced pedestrian crosswalks. The purpose of these improvements is to improve the safety of the road for pedestrians\, bicyclists\, and transit users as well as motorists while maintaining adequate traffic flow and preserving access to businesses. The corridor traverses the center of the Skyway Marina District and this project follows the goals of the Skyway Marina District Plan to create a safe\, walkable and economically vibrant community. \nThere will be a short presentation about the project at 6:15 PM followed by the opportunity to view materials related to the project and ask questions. SUMMARY:Joe’s Creek Greenway Trail Alignment Study Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Health in Pinellas County has granted Forward Pinellas funds to determine a preferred trail alignment for Joe’s Creek Greenway Trail as identified in the Forward Pinellas Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan. The preferred alignment will be documented in the final trail alignment report along with illustrative sections/sketches\, narrative\, and an opinion of probable construction costs. This study will be an integral part of our multimodal transportation planning process that aims to achieve a healthy and safe route for bicycle and pedestrian travel from Joe’s Creek Neighborhood Greenway to the Pinellas Trail and surrounding communities. Forward Pinellas is coordinating this study with the Pinellas County Planning Department\, which is contributing nearly $35\,000 in funding for a total study cost of about $88\,000. The project is scheduled to be completed by May 31\, 2017. \nForward Pinellas’ consultant\, AECOM\, will provide an overview of the data gathering and analysis phase of the study.
