SUMMARY:Joe’s Creek Greenway Trail Alignment Study Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Health in Pinellas County has granted Forward Pinellas funds to determine a preferred trail alignment for Joe’s Creek Greenway Trail as identified in the Forward Pinellas Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan. The preferred alignment will be documented in the final trail alignment report along with illustrative sections/sketches\, narrative\, and an opinion of probable construction costs. This study will be an integral part of our multimodal transportation planning process that aims to achieve a healthy and safe route for bicycle and pedestrian travel from Joe’s Creek Neighborhood Greenway to the Pinellas Trail and surrounding communities. Forward Pinellas is coordinating this study with the Pinellas County Planning Department\, which is contributing nearly $35\,000 in funding for a total study cost of about $88\,000. The project is scheduled to be completed by May 31\, 2017. \nForward Pinellas’ consultant\, AECOM\, will provide an overview of the data gathering and analysis phase of the study. Comment cards will be collected and route option maps will be displayed onsite. For questions or special accommodations\, please contact Forward Pinellas staff at 727-464-8200. \nForward Pinellas does not discriminate on the basis of race\, color or national origin in the administration of programs\, activities or services. SUMMARY:Public Hearing: Transportation Management Area Federal Certification
DESCRIPTION:5:30 p.m.\, 310 Court Street 1st Floor Conference Room\, Clearwater \nUnder federal law\, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) are responsible for bringing together local communities to create long-range plans and priorities for major transportation projects. In the Transportation Management Area of District Seven of the Florida Department of Transportation\, there are three MPOs serving Hillsborough\, Pasco\, and Pinellas Counties respectively. The Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration conduct a review every four years to certify that all MPOs are satisfactorily meeting the requirements for metropolitan transportation planning\, as defined in Federal laws and regulations. Forward Pinellas is holding a public meeting to provide the public with an opportunity to share thoughts with the federal review team about how transportation planning is conducted here. In addition to this meeting\, there is a 30 day comment period beginning after the meeting and ending April 29. You can access the comment form here. \nThe Forward Pinellas public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue as long as attendees are present. \nPublic participation is solicited without regard to race\, color\, national origin\, age\, sex\, religion\, disability\, or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact the Office of Human Rights\, 400 South Fort Harrison Avenue\, Suite 300\, Clearwater\, Florida 33756; [(727) 464-4062 (V/TDD)] at least seven days prior to the meeting.
