Forward Pinellas, the Planning Council and Metropolitan Planning Organization for Pinellas County, Florida is seeking a Planning Analyst to join its team. Our agency is a progressive and innovative organization whose mission is to work with our partners to implement broad, forward-looking land use planning policies, develop and guide effective multimodal transportation solutions, and respond to the changing needs of a redeveloping, urban county on the west coast of Florida. This is an entry-level, full-time position responsible for providing spatial analytics, mapping, and graphics development to support the plans, programs, and projects of the agency. The successful candidate will prepare technical reports, maintain databases, and use Geographic Information System (GIS) tools to guide the agency’s decision-making and project development processes. Knowledge of the principles and practices of urban planning, research, data collection and analytics, and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and GIS is required. The successful candidate should be a creative problem-solver, a team player, an effective writer, and possess persuasive verbal communication skills. In addition to working with a team of collaborative and supportive Forward Pinellas team members, the successful candidate will routinely work with other stakeholders including state, regional, and local government staff and the public.
