Targeted safety analyses centered around data collection, evaluation of existing challenges and engagement with the local community through walking audits held collaboratively with law enforcement and school representatives, community organizations, and private stakeholders. Our aim is to identify and prioritize low-cost but high-impact strategies that are implementable in our communities. Project Components<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The scope of each project was tailored to the needs of each community and project location, but all the projects followed an agreed upon framework that comprised of several shared components.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_text_separator title=”Community Engagement” title_align=”separator_align_left” color=”sky”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]Safety walk audit, a stakeholder survey, a community workshop, and a presentation to the local governing board.\u00a0<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_text_separator title=”Crash Data Analysis” title_align=”separator_align_left” color=”sky”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]Comprehensive analysis of crashes in the area was conducted for the previous five-year period.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_text_separator title=”Existing Network Analysis” title_align=”separator_align_left” color=”sky”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]Review of the existing transportation network, including signage\/traffic control devices, pavement markings, existing facilities, evaluation of vehicle speeds, etc.<\/p>\n
