Safe Streets Demonstration Project
October 26, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Forward Pinellas, with Pinellas County’s Transportation Division and the City of Clearwater, will host a Safe Streets Pinellas demonstration promoting the safety benefits of a recently installed Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) on the Duke Energy Trail crossing off Nursery Road in Clearwater.
Safe Streets Pinellas is Forward Pinellas’ Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on our roadways. The public and media are invited to attend the free educational event on Monday, Oct. 26, between 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Please note that parking may be limited.
At this event, you will learn how to use RRFBs and other bike and pedestrian safety tools. You will also have an opportunity to tell Forward Pinellas and Pinellas County why Safe Streets matter to you and where you’re seeing transportation issues. Your feedback will directly help Forward Pinellas develop an Action Plan that will provide tools for the public and our partners to help make our community safer while traveling. COVID-19 safety precautions will be taken at the event.
