About the LRTP
As a metropolitan planning organization (MPO), Forward Pinellas determines what transportation projects should receive state and federal funding in Pinellas County with its long range transportation plan (LRTP).
Created every five years, the LRTP identifies the major transportation needs for our communities and enables them to receive critical funding in the future – without inclusion in the plan, a transportation project cannot be eligible for this funding resource and may not be built. The newest Long Range Transportation Plan is the Advantage Pinellas plan.
The LRTP is a portion of the overall “Advantage Pinellas” strategic plan that looks out over the next 25 years identifying ways we can improve mobility, economic opportunity and housing affordability countywide.
