Public Hearing: Transportation Management Area Federal Certification
March 29, 2017 @ 5:30 pm
5:30 p.m., 310 Court Street 1st Floor Conference Room, Clearwater
Under federal law, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) are responsible for bringing together local communities to create long-range plans and priorities for major transportation projects. In the Transportation Management Area of District Seven of the Florida Department of Transportation, there are three MPOs serving Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties respectively. The Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration conduct a review every four years to certify that all MPOs are satisfactorily meeting the requirements for metropolitan transportation planning, as defined in Federal laws and regulations. Forward Pinellas is holding a public meeting to provide the public with an opportunity to share thoughts with the federal review team about how transportation planning is conducted here. In addition to this meeting, there is a 30 day comment period beginning after the meeting and ending April 29. You can access the comment form here.
The Forward Pinellas public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue as long as attendees are present.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
