Special Act Review Subcommittee Meeting

A subcommittee of the Forward Pinellas Board has been formed to review the Special Act that created and governs the Pinellas Planning Council.  This subcommittee will work together over a series of meetings to recommend reforms to the responsibilities of the Pinellas Planning Council as outlined in Chapter 2012-245, Laws of Florida. The goal is to explore how the Council can better align its responsibilities, with or without a merger of the Tampa Bay Area metropolitan planning organizations, with the evolving needs of the municipalities in Pinellas County. This is the first meeting of the subcommittee which will meet monthly through September of 2026.
