The Gulf Boulevard Conceptual Alternatives and Safety Study for St. Pete Beach and The Gulf Boulevard Conceptual Alternatives and Safety Study for Treasure Island are two projects with the same goal; to assess the safety of and develop conceptual alternatives for the Gulf Boulevard corridor.
One study is looking at improving safety and developing conceptual alternatives for the portion of the Gulf Boulevard corridor that is located between 35th Avenue and 75th Avenue in St. Pete Beach. The other study is looking at the portion of the Gulf Boulevard corridor that is located within the city limits of Treasure Island. Gulf Boulevard is a major corridor within St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island and serves multiple modes of travel, providing major connections for area residents and visitors. The intent of these projects is to develop preliminary concept plans (i.e., not full-scale design) to envision potential improvements for implementation to help improve safety and connectivity for all modes of travel, including micromobility, on Gulf Boulevard.
These two projects will be conducted simultaneously, and the benefit of conducting these studies at the same time allows for efficiency during the existing conditions assessment, safety analysis, development of concept alternatives, and development of project scoping summaries for Gulf Boulevard within both municipalities.
