Forward Pinellas celebrated Presidents Day 2023 with our annual Community In-Service Day. Each year in February, Forward Pinellas staff spends an in-service day volunteering on projects throughout Pinellas County that benefit the communities we serve. We strive to contribute in a way that is meaningful to the community and on projects that align with our agency’s mission and goals.
This year’s community partner was the Hope Villages of America. Hope Villages of America is a local non-profit that provides services that address hunger, homelessness, domestic violence, and lack of basic needs. Key efforts include food distribution services, abuse services, housing stability services and the Express Center which provides “get it now” services and goods.

Forward Pinellas staff spent the day at the Oaks housing complex and the Food Bank. The Oaks is part of Hope Village’s Housing Stability Division and provides affordable housing unites for families who are working toward self-sufficiency. Staff cleaned and organized office space rooms, power-washed exterior walls, and raked leaves. Staff also spent the day at the Food Bank warehouse sorting and investigating food donations and packing bags and boxes of food for daily distribution. The Food Bank is central to Hope Village’s Food Distribution and Basic Needs Division to alleviate hunger.
